Sawtooth Stars

I have never made a quilt with sawtooth stars, but my daughter chose a pattern using them when she was here in January, and I decided it was time to make her a quilt! 

She likes 40's ande 50's designs (notice the Route 66 green fabric!) and I chose some of the fabrics from my stash plus a couple I sequestered from Mom's stash as well.  More pieces will have to be purchased to finish this.  There will be 70 of the six and a half inch blocks that make up this quilt, and then she wants an Autumn leaf border.

Here is the beginning...8 stars done, and 62 more to go! :-)  I am going for greens and browns with cream and small touches of red.  These are colors she really likes, also.  I'll post more when I'm closer to getting this done.  I have a small break coming up....a trip across country!  Check out my main blog, A Colorful World to learn more.

    The stars look great! Sawtooth stars are my favorite star, so I hope you have fun making the quilt. Your other blog didn't open so I couldn't look at it. We are on a cross country trip right now and spent the night in Williams, AZ. We stopped here because there was a blizzard!! We didn't expect that.

    Thank you...I am enjoying it so far! Wow, a blizzard! :-) We are leaving in the morning and the weather report promises about 90 degree weather and no rain pretty much all the way. Not that I like 90 degree weather either! :-) I hope you can get on my other blog when you try again

    I have a bunch of Civil War fabrics I am thinking about using to make a Sawtooth Star with. I like the fabrics, but my husband loves them!

    Marie, thanks for stopping by at my blog. You must take the quilting after your Mama. They are beautiful. I have some quilt squares I am working on somewhere on down in my blog. I like to "dabble" in a lot of crafts, but mostly crochet and knitting. I love you Mom's blog. I kept up with it the whole time she was posting about your Dad. We have a lot in common. I will visit you again also!

    I've always admired quilters-no matter the pattern they are all so beautiful and utilitarian. Almost too pretty to use!
