Finally it is Complete!

This is the queen-sized quilt I made for our daughter and son-in-law.  It is broderrie perse on the top border, and of course pieced Ohio stars throughout.

This view is of the back.  I had three Ohio star squares I utilized into the piecing of it.

Some of the quilting.  This was my first free motion quilting complete!

I pieced a two-tone beige Ohio star on the back also.
This was such a sense of accomplishment for me!  My first queen-sized finish.  Lots of hard work, but so worth it!

  1. Marie, this is absolutely beautiful! I love the colors, best of all I love the border! Did your daughter know that you were making this for her.........or did you surprise her? I bet they feel so lucky to get such a beautiful gift! Doesn't it feel good to get it finished? What are you going to make next??

  3. What a lovely quilt! Your mom sent me over. :) I like visiting quilt shows, too. Do you ever go to the one by Mancuso in Hampton each February?

  4. Oh, my....very lovely! I bet they are thrilled with it. You did a great job of the quilting. I love the broderie perse at the top. I've always wanted to try doing that but haven't tried it yet. Really lovely! You have been very busy! I've been stagnant and accomplishing little. I am working on my little hexies project at least and may get that Red Roses thing done soon. I finally got the edge scalloped...now have to bind it.

  5. Oh, Marie this is a beauty. I love that you did not put cornerstones in the sashing. Without them the stars just seem to float there. Really beautiful.
